Los Angeles - Day 2.

Tizenegyedik nap - 2013.06.30.

Túl vagyunk a második Los Angeles-i napunkon is. Habár a nap későn kezdődött számunkra, mégis sokáig tartott, hiszen annyi látnivaló van ebben a városban. Sajnos ezeknek csak a töredékét tudtuk megtekinteni és dokumentálni. A nap első állomása Hollywood volt, pontosabban a Hollywood Boulevard, ahol végigsétáltunk egy darabon a Hírességek sétányán is, ahol találtunk pár említésre érdemes csillagot. Az út során elhaladtunk a Dolby színház előtt (korábban Kodak színház), amely már több mint 20 éve szolgál az Oscar-díjak átadásának helyszínéül. Közvetlenül mellette található a Kínai színház, amely pedig a hollywoodi sztárok kézlenyomatairól nevezetes. Erről a látványosságról azonban lemaradtunk, mert éppen el volt kerítve a színház előtti terület. A sétány után elindultunk hegyet mászni a Vörös királynővel, és meg se álltunk a Hollywood feliratig. Miután mindenki lefotózkodott a felirattal, elindultunk megkeresni néhány nevezetesebb filmes helyszínt. Az első Kate Mantilini étterme volt, ahol a Szemtől szemben című film egyik kulcs jelenetét forgatták Al Pacino és Robert De Niro főszereplésével. Itt gyorsan elfogyasztottunk egy kávét, ahogy a két színész is tette a filmben, majd tovább álltunk a Fox Pláza irányába, vagy, ahogy a Drágán add az életed első részében hívták: Nakatomi Pláza. Itt nem sok időt töltöttünk, mivel kevésbé volt látványos, mint előző az előző helyszín, ezért tovább haladtunk a nap utolsó állomása, a világhírű Santa Monica mólóhoz. Itt már igazán nagy tömeg és nyüzsgés fogadott minket, szinte már New York-ban érezte magát az ember. A nap végeztével elköszöntünk a várostól, és visszajöttünk még egyszer utoljára a szállásunkra, hogy megkeressük Las Vegas-i pihenőhelyünket, majd aludjunk egy nagyot.

Eleneth day - 2013.06.30.

Hey there!

We finished our second full day in L.A. Though we started the day a bit late, it ended a little late too, because of the tons of things we can see in this city. Unfortunately we got to see only a part of it. The first stop of the day was Hollywood, Hollywood Bld. to be precise, where we took a little walk on the Walk of Fame. Along the way we passed the Dolby Theatre (formerly known as Kodak Theatre), which is the home of the Oscars for more than twenty years now. Directly next to it there is the Chinese Theatre, which is known from the handprint of the stars in the concrete. We missed this attraction because of the fence surrounded the area. After the walk, we took the Red Queen for a little mountain climbing, just to get a closer look of the Hollywood sign. When everybody did his own picture with the sign, we started to look for some famous movie places. The first was the Kate Mantilini Restaurant, where they shoot one of the major scenes of Heat starring Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. We drank a coffee there, just like in the movie and moved to our next sight, which was the Fox Plaza, or Nakatomi Plaza as they called it in the first Die Hard. We didn’t spend much time here, because it was not as amusing as the restaurant before. The last destination of the day was the Santa Monica pier. We ran into a mass, made us feel like we are back in New York again. At the end of the day we said goodbye to the city and went back to our room for one last time just to use the internet to search for our next accommodation and sleep one, before tomorrow’s trip.

Los Angeles - Day 1.

Tizedik nap - 2013.06.29.

Hello mindenki!

Újra itt vagyunk, most már kipihenten és frissen, kicsit barnán, kicsit szegényebben. Ma már Los Angeles útjait róttuk, és első úti célunk a Staples Center volt, ami a Los Angeles Lakers és a Los Angeles Kings otthona is egyben. Habár már 10 órakor elindultunk, majdnem dél volt mire odaértünk, mert elképesztően nagy volt a forgalom az autópályán. A csarnok mellett leparkolva, még ki se léptünk a parkolóházból, máris egy Adidas vásárba botlottunk, ahol a különböző sport, szabadidő és egyéb ruházati cikkeket, túrkáló módjára kipakolva árusították az eredeti ár töredékéért. Az árak olyannyira csábítóak voltak, hogy rögtön belevetettük magunkat a vásárlásba, és csak három órával később keveredtünk ki. Ezt követően elindultunk Venice Beach-re egy kis fürdőzés kevéért. Az út közben azonban be kellett iktatnunk egy gyors ebédet a Taco Bell-nél, mert a nagy vásárlásban nem került rá sor. A strandon kellemesen meleg idő fogadott minket, ami a nappali 35-37 fok után nagyon jól jött, és még pár hullámot is meglovagoltunk. A holnapi napra már előre elterveztünk egy-két programot, aminek ha csak a felét is teljesítjük, akkor már boldogak lehetünk. Ennek eredményéről azonban csak holnap tudunk nyilatkozni, addig is jó éjszakát!

Tenth day – 2013.06.29.

Hey everyone!

Here we are again, rested and a little tanned finally. Today we travelled on the roads of Los Angeles, and our first destination was the Staples Center, the home of the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Kings.  Though we left our motel around 10, it was almost noon, when we finally reached the center, all because of the horribly huge traffic on the highway. After we parked our car next to the Staples Center, we bumped into a huge Adidas sale, where they sold all kind of sport goods and clothes for a really low price. The whole sale looked like a thrift store for the first glance. The prices were so tempting, that we had to stay and do some shopping, which lasted for three hours. After the sale we went to Venice Beach to catch some waves in the ocean. Although we had to stop before, to grab some food at the local Taco Bell, because we forgot to eat during the great shopping. On the beach we had a nice, warm weather, which was really cool after the 35-37 Celsius in the city. For tomorrow we already planned one or two things. If we can do only the half of it, we are going to be very happy. Tomorrow I will report again, until then Good Night!
