Pénteken újabb várost
tekinthettünk meg, név szerint Memphis városát. Aránylag korán, már délután
négy óra körül a városba értünk, ahol a szállásunk elfoglalását követően
beugrottunk a városba, hogy megtekintsük a helyi nevezetességeket. Első
állomásunk Graceland volt, ami egykoron a Király, Elvis Presley otthonául
szolgált. A múzeummá alakított kúria rengeteg érdeklődőt vonz, még egy esős
pénteki napon is. A kígyózó sorok és az árak láttán mi azonban úgy döntöttünk,
hogy pár fotó után tovább állunk és kipróbáljuk inkább a nevezetes memphisi
bbq-t. Választásunk a Central BBQ étteremre esett, ahol egy kiváló estebédet
fogyasztottunk el. Ezt követően ellátogattunk Memphis egyik híres utcájára, a
Beale Street-re, ahol folyamatosan élő zene hallható, és minden hangszóróból
szól a blues. Az utca kövein memphishez kötődő énekesek, producerek,
zeneszerzők hangjegyei találhatók, ami az úgynevezett Memphis Walk of Fame
nevet is magán viseli emiatt. Itt található még a Memphis Grizzlies kosárlabda
csapat otthona, a Fedex Forum is, amit úgyszintén útba ejtettünk, mielőtt
visszatértünk volna esti szállásunkra. Sajnos kevés időt tudtunk eltölteni a
Beale Streeten és a városban, de e röpke idő alatt is bizonyossá vált
számunkra, hogy Memphis az a város, ahova érdemes visszatérni.

On Friday, we got to see another great town,
namely Memphis. We arrived to the city around four o’clock in the afternoon,
where we went to find an accommodation first, and went to the city only after
that. Our first destination was Graceland, which was the home of the King,
Elvis Presley. A house which is now a museum has a lot of visitors even on a
rainy Friday afternoon. As we saw the long queue and the price of the tickets,
we decided to go after taking some pictures. Instead of Graceland, we choose to
try out the famous Memphis bbq at Central BBQ. After the late lunch we visited
one of Memphis most famous street, the Beale Street, where you can hear live
music constantly, and blues coming out form every speaker. On the stones of
the street there are notes, remembering great musician s, producers and
singers who are related to Memphis. This is why they call the street
Memphis walk of fame also. Not far from here, there is the Fedex Forum, the arena
of the Memphis Grizzlies basketball team. After we finished our tour on the
Beale Street, returned to our room for a goodnight sleep. Though we couldn't spend
much time exploring Beale Street and the town, but it became a certainty for us during this short time that Memphis is a city worth to revisit.
